Firstly, Lisa demonstrated her extensive colour expertise, individual style and techniques in the ‘Colour SHair’ area at Colour World UK last spring where hundreds of colourists from across the country flocked to watch her at work. But that’s not the only place where Lisa was able to showcase her skills. She was also working backstage at London Fashion Week with Goldwell getting the models runway-ready.

Another highlight was sitting front row at the annual Goldwell Color Zoom Summer Party at London’s prestigious Guildhall where this year’s winners were announced. We were also very proud of securing a front page cover of Central Hairdressing magazine.

Lastly, our educational trips were a big part of 2016. As much as we loved to spread our inspiration and skills locally at our London Academy cut and colour course, we also especially loved going to Berlin for the EMEA Capability training and, most recently, Milan for the Tricoprince Academy.

So 2016 seems like a hard year to beat but with so many great plans already lined up, we think 2017 has a good chance of being the best year yet. We can’t wait to share some of our amazing news so watch this space!

It’s not just the A-listers that get to sit front row; the Webster Whiteman team do too! Last Sunday, we attended the annual Goldwell Color Zoom Summer Party at London’s prestigious Guildhall where this year’s winners were announced.

Our team love to see the amazing talent that is showcased within the Color Zoom Challenge, which is one of the biggest hair competitions in the world. And we know first hand the opportunities the awards can bring as the last few years have seen not one, but two of our team crowned Color Zoom winners. Becky Barnes won the UK Creative Colorist category in 2014 and salon co-founder Lisa Whiteman previously scooped the Partner Colorist accolade.

We’ve always known our very own Lisa is a hairdressing superstar, but that status has just been cemented after she was selected to feature on the BBC’s flagship news and current affairs TV show Newsnight.

Lisa was filmed in the salon and interviewed by renowned presenter Kirsty Wark for a ‘Glad To Be Grey?’ feature where she was asked why so many women won’t risk keeping their hair grey.

An articulate Lisa explained that some women consider showing their greys makes them feel older, so they prefer having that youthful shine back in their hair and staying true to their natural colour or a shade they consider suits them better.
